It means that the foam has been hand cut and placed in multiple layers. This style of construction has a reputation for lasting longer than a “machine molded” glove especially when punching a heavy bag. “Machine molded” gloves can still be great especially for sparring. “Machine molded” gloves are made by a machine and look like one big piece of foam in the shape of a boxing glove.
